WORKSHOP
Over the past fifty years millions of Muslims have immigrated to Europe and North America sparking a wide range of heated debates about religious freedom and tolerance, national security and culture, and democratic values and diversity. With every new controversy, terror attack, election, and war, political fights over Muslim immigration only seem to get more and more intense--and more and more fearful. In a culture of increasing fear and fragmentation what is the calling of the worship leader? What liturgical resources do we have to equip our congregations to resist our culture of fear and live into the grace and hospitality of Christ? Dr. Matthew Kaemingk leads this discussion. He is a professor of Christian Ethics and the author of Christian Hospitality and Muslim Immigration in an Age of Fear (Eerdmans, 2018).
