A Bilingual Easter Prayer in the time of COVID-19 pandemic
Dios de amor,
recordamos con inmensa gratitud el sacrificio de Cristo Jesús en la cruz.
Nos reconocemos deudores de tu gracia.
Señor de la vida,
celebramos con profundo gozo tu victoria; ¡el odio y la muerte no pudieron derrotar tu amor!
Esperamos con fe la promesa de la vida eterna.
Con humildad, te rogamos
que el poder del Resucitado derrote la enfermedad que nos asola;
que la misericordia del Resucitado consuele los corazones de quienes sufren;
que la esperanza en el Resucitado sostenga a quienes están de duelo;
que el amor del Resucitado nos mueva a amar y a servir al prójimo sin egoísmo;
que la paz del Resucitado calme nuestra ansiedad, y nos libre de todo temor.
Con fe, oramos en el nombre de Jesús,
quien murió,
resucitó,
y está con nosotros hasta el fin del mundo.

Loving God,
We remember with immense gratitude the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
We recognize ourselves as debtors of your grace.
Lord of Life,
We celebrate with deep joy your victory; hate and death could not defeat your love!
We await with faith the promise of eternal life.
We humbly pray to you:
May the power of the Risen One defeat the disease that plagues us;
May the mercy of the Risen One comfort the hearts of those who suffer;
May hope in the Risen One sustain those who mourn;
May the love of the Risen One move us to love and serve our neighbor without selfishness;
May the peace of the Risen One calm our anxiety and free us from all fear.
In faith, we pray in the name of Jesus,
who died,
was raised,
and is with us until the end of the world.
