Dwelling in the Psalms: Music for Organ, Choir, and Congregation
The Joe R. Engle Organ Concert and Psalm Festival will feature a wide range of repertoire drawn from the book of Psalms including a commissioned choral anthem based on Psalm 46 and composed by Eurydice Osterman entitled “Be Still and Know That I Am God.” Evelyn Simpson-Curenton will improvise an organ work based on Psalm 116, “I Love the Lord.” Organists Eric Wall and Ahreum Han Congdon will present organ works exploring the depth and breadth of the Psalter. And guest conductor, Brandon Boyd, will lead the Seminary Chapel Choir and audience in singing.

Singing for Our Lives is a hymn festival to reimagine the ancient imprecatory psalms—those fierce, unflinching cries for justice—as a sacred invitation to transformation and community resilience.
The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship is excited to partner with Arrabon, a spiritual formation ministry that equips Christ-followers to actively and creatively pursue reconciliation and racial healing in their communities, to offer a curated experiential learning trip to Montgomery, Alabama.
On February 25, Grand Rapids Christian Schools 7th-12th grade Orchestra program is pleased to present Sing a New Song: A Festival of Psalms. This concert grows out of GRCS’s year-long theme of dwelling in the Psalms, which is supported in part by the generosity of the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship’s Vital Worship, Vital Preaching Grants Program.
An interactive conversation about Gospel Music, honoring the power of faith, testimony and song in the African American Experience, with special guests Donté Ford and Julian Davis Reid.
This conference offers opportunities to learn from guest speakers, musicians, and artists and participate in a psalm festival worship service and other times of prayer and reflection.
