Ministry Leadership Cohort Peer Leaders

Meet the Ministry Leadership Cohort (MLC) peer leaders!

Claire van Zelst

Hey, friends! My name is Claire van Zelst, and I will be a junior this fall. I am double majoring in elementary   education and special education. I have lived in Grand Rapids all my life, but I love to travel because both of my   parents were born in Europe. Some of my favorite things include coffee, reading, hiking, sunrises, and rock   climbing. I look forward to getting to know you all better!

Alyssa Pokharel

Hi, friends! My name is Alyssa Pokharel and I'm studying psychology with a   neuroscience concentration (and a philosophy minor). I come from Kathmandu,   Nepal. —land of the mountains! Here's a random list of some things I love: hiking,   reading, wildflowers, scrapbooking, hot tea, golden hours, sushi, traveling, and deep   faith conversations. I have loved the ministry leadership cohort, and I'm so excited to   be a part of your Ministry Leadership Cohort journey!

Kyle CronanHello! My name is Kyle Cronan, and I will be one of the peer leaders for the first-year cohort! I am so excited to step into this role after having such a good experience with the Ministry Leadership Cohort the last two years! I am a junior studying secondary education with a focus on grades 5–12 social studies and 5–9 math. Outside of the Ministry Leadership Cohort, you can find me actively involved with the Calvin Theatre Company, mostly behind the scenes. The Ministry Leadership Cohort has been such a wonderful community for me to be a part of, and I can't wait to continue to be a part of it and welcome a new group of students into our community!

Huizenga_Levi_200x266.jpgHi there! My name is Levi Huizenga, and I’m so excited to be a peer leader for the next cohort! I’m from Larkspur, CA, but grew up in Grand Rapids. I love reading, watching movies, drinking coffee, and going for long runs. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all!

Witvliet_Kate_200x266.jpg

Hello, MLC! My name is Kate Witvliet, and I’m so excited to meet you all! I’ve loved my years in the cohort and look forward to walking alongside yours! At Calvin, I’ve also enjoyed singing choir, being a Barnabas, and being a student coordinator at the Service-Learning Center. I love my history and political science majors as well. In my free time, I love to go on walks with friends, make yummy food, play my violin, have late-night conversations, or go on spontaneous adventures. I am praying over you all as you transition into the Calvin community!

Cailin Ogg Hi, friends! My name is Cailin Ogg, and I am going into my senior year at Calvin. I have been a part of the MLC     since my first year and served as a peer leader last year. The MLC has been one of my greatest joys at Calvin! I   am from Colorado (you will likely hear me bring this up way too often!) and am a psychology major with a   neuroscience concentration on a pre-physical therapy track. I am also on the swim team at Calvin, and in my free   time I enjoy trips to Lake Michigan, traveling, walks or hiking, and coffee conversations! I am so excited to   reconnect with the sophomores and meet the incoming first-years!

Bos_Anneka_200x266.jpg

Hi, everyone! My name is Anneka Bos, and I'm a senior pursuing my master’s in accounting. I grew up in Hudsonville, Michigan, which is right between Calvin and the lakeshore. Some things I really love are going on long walks, listening to classical music, coffee, any noodle-based meal, Excel spreadsheets, staying busy, paddleboarding, flowers, and cooking food for friends and family. I've loved being involved the MLC my first three years at Calvin and am so excited to meet you all and grow with you in faith and understanding!

Hi! I am Grace Cooper. I am a senior double majoring in biology and Spanish with a minor in ministry leadership. I enjoy spending time outside and hanging out with friends and family in my free time. The MLC has been a great point of community for me. I have learned a lot being a part of the MLC, and I am excited to continue my involvement as a peer leader!
