Lectio Divina

2019 Vital Worship Grants Colloquium | Morning Worship

Lectio Divina

Lectio divina—holy reading—is a gift from the Benedictine and Cistercian tradition, with roots in the 6th century. It is a simple yet rich practice of praying the scriptures, nourishing and deepening our relationship with God.

The LORD will guide you continually,
and satisfy your needs in parched places,
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters never fail.
