Healthy Tensions in Corporate Worship
Throughout church history views of worship have tended toward polarization: Spirit or Word? Planned or spontaneous? Reverent or celebratory? Relevant or historically rooted? For God or for us?
We often think in either/or categories when leading worship, when God wants us to think both/and. This seminar highlighted many of the false dichotomies we set up in our minds regarding worship and suggest ways of embracing them as complementary truths.
Presented at the 2007 Calvin Symposium on Worship.
