In response to the challenges of the pandemic, to use the Psalms to explore lament, grief, and resilience by engaging in liturgical arts that tell worshipers' stories, name challenges and losses, and cultivate healing and hope. 

To offer three intergenerational “Psalm Plunges” that will provide space to look at the Psalms intentionally through lectures, worship and working together on songs, art projects, new lyrics for old hymns, liturgical elements, prayers, sentences, poems and other creativity inspired by the Psalms to help the congregation become more aware of how and why we worship as we do. 

To revitalize the congregation’s worship ministry and strengthen the spiritual life in our families by promoting the reading and understanding of the Bible through the celebration of family devotions based on Psalms.

To teach people how to incorporate moments of adoration, confession, intercession, and listening into daily life through worship services that explore both Jesus’ words and examples of each habit and the words and emotions of each habit in the Psalms.  Additionally, an intergenerational weekend retreat will be offered where small groups will develop scripture, a hands-on experience and a take-home card to emphasize the practice of the habit.

To dwell in the Psalms as the yearly chapel theme that will include book studies, guest speakers and a Psalmfest with the expectation that a new understanding of the breadth and depth of the Psalms will result in greater and fuller worship participation using drama, music and visual arts in an ethnically and denominationally diverse K-12 school.

To offer a daylong symposium and to develop resources for singing the psalms in worship.  The project will acquaint worship leaders with choices involving musical styles, methods and modes of presentation and accompaniment, and equip worship leaders to teach others to embrace the psalms.

To conduct a seminar to address the need for clergy, choirs and congregations to better understand the Psalms and how the Psalms deepen the prayer life of congregations and nurture their faith.

To collaboratively plan multicultural worship services that present newly written biblically inspired psalms and multimedia experiences related to those psalms.

To deepen the prayer life of the community and to grow in practices of praise, confession, lament, and thanksgiving through a year of formation around learning, praying, living and singing the psalms. 

To immerse the congregation in baptismal practices, “affirmation of baptism” practices and public and private psalm-saturated liturgical practices that help believers identify themselves as part of the baptized community as seen and practiced by generations of those saturated in the psalms by offering sermons, monthly baptismal services based on psalms and informed by rituals from the global and historic Christian church, and curriculum for family devotions, small group life and children’s minis
