 Pauline writings encourage, provoke, and at times irritate readers of the New Testament. Some of our issues relate to the image of the apostle that we have inherited or created while scholars constantly debate Pauline theology. Yet Paul’s identity as evangelist, preacher, and pastor continues to inform our ministerial work, including preaching.
