The Next Generation: Youth, World Christianity, and the Future of the Faith
This summer seminar will provide a forum for scholars to share about their research on youth and religion, consider the complex processes that accompanies the transmission of faith among youth, especially among those in urban setting, and explore the role of youth in the future of the Christian faith, in both the American and global religious contexts.

About the Directors
Mark R. Gornik (PhD, University of Edinburgh) is the director of City Seminary of New York. Out of his decade of pastoral ministry and community development in Baltimore he wrote To Live in Peace: Biblical Faith in the Changing Inner City (Eerdmans, 2002). His other publications include Word Made Global: Stories of African Christianity in New York City (Eerdmans) and Understanding World Christianity: The Vision and Work of Andrew F. Walls (Orbis
Janice A. McLean (PhD, University of Edinburgh) is a member of the faculty at City Seminary of New York. Janice is co-editor of Understanding World Christianity: The Vision and Work of Andrew F. Walls (Orbis) and author of several articles on immigrant churches, and urban youth and religion. She is a member of the pastoral team for New Song Community Church (CRC) in Harlem.
Maria Liu Wong (EdD candidate, Teacher's College at Columbia University) is the dean of City Seminary of New York. Her research focuses on women and leadership in theological education, adult learning and faith transmission and leadership among urban immigrant youth.
