Lessons & Carols "Reconciling All Things"
A service of lessons and carols inspired by the vision of Colossians 1:20 that through Jesus, God is reconciling to himself all things on earth and in heaven.
Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 3:00PM to 8:00PM
LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church
Please join Calvin College Women’s Chorale and Capella, under the direction of conductor Pearl Shangkuan, and the Campus Choir, under the direction of Sean Ivory, for the 45th annual service of Lessons and Carols.
The service will be offered at 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. There is limited capacity so early arrival is recommended. The service will be live streamed into the LaGrave Chapel for guests who arrive late or are unable to find a seat in the sanctuary. The service program is found here for those who cannot attend and want to watch the service being live streamed.
A free-will offering will be collected; tickets are not required.
Lessons & Carols "Reconciling All Things" is presented by the Music Department and Calvin Institute of Christian Worship and is part of the Create.Unite.Renew season of events.
“Reconciling all things.” This was the foundation from which the arts divisions at Calvin College began the creative process of developing the 2018–19 theme, “Create.Unite.Renew.” Our desire was to embrace not only the process of artistic creation but the emotional, physical, and spiritual healing that the Arts can bring to an individual and to a community. With this healing there is reconciliation and renewed hope. For the first time in Calvin’s history, all six Arts disciplines (Art, Music, Dance, Theatre, Writing, and Film Media) will join together with rooted intention to create a season that brings hope and healing to participating student artists, engaged audience members, and the greater community as a whole. You are part of the 2018–2019 season and we welcome you.
