Developed in partnership with the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship and the Calvin University School of Graduate and Continuing Studies, this online course equips worship planners and leaders of all types of ministries with practical tools for relating well to people from a variety of cultures. Understanding and respecting cultural differences is key to a healthy ministry.
Psalmody in Color: Celebrating the Sacred Music of Black Voices
As part of The Abyssinian Baptist Church’s annual Black Music Month Celebration, Psalmody in Color is a weekend-long festival dedicated to exploring and uplifting the psalm settings of Black composers, past and present. Through concerts, lectures, and workshops, the festival highlights the rich sacred music traditions that have shaped worship and cultural life across generations.
Dwelling in the Psalms: Music for Organ, Choir, and Congregation
A Psalm Festival presented by the Chapel Choir of Princeton Seminary and director Martin Tel, with performers and choral conductors Brandon Boyd, Mina Choi, Ahreum Han-Congdon, Evelyn Simpson-Curenton, and Eric Wall.
In this workshop, participants will explore the many ways of singing psalms using settings from traditional, contemporary, gospel, African, Asian, and South American genres.
