Rodrigo Cano recently became the pastor of Community Christian Church in Aurora, IL. Before that, he pastored Comunidad Cristiana de Grand Rapids, a church he planted 4 1/2 years ago. This congregation ministers to the Hispanic community in Grand Rapids and is a mix of different cultures from different countries with both first and second generation immigrants worshiping together. Cano's experience as an immigrant has helped him grasp an understanding of both worlds. He can relate to his own Hispanic heritage, but he also understands the US culture in which we live. He is now excited about this new adventure to get involved with the community in Aurora, IL. The commission Jesus gave his disciples is the same for the church today: Go and make disciples. The call for the church is to get out of the four walls and get involved in the community God has planted them. Being a missional church shouldn't be a program that church has but an integral part in the life of the church.
