Michelle E. Navarrete was born and raised in the Chicago area as a daughter of Mexican immigrants. Her identity as a Latina musician and Old Testament scholar is tied to her calling to bridge spaces between church and academy. She lives in Clarkston, Georgia—the most diverse square mile in the United States—where she actively participates in the community of Proskuneo Ministries, a nonprofit committed to multicultural, multigenerational, multilingual worship.
