Anneke Kaai-van Wijngaarden (1951) is a Dutch artist/painter. She studied art at the Gooise Academy for Fine Art and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. From the start, Kaai-van Wijngaarden determined to find her creative inspiration in God alone. In addition to many individual works, she has published nine series of paintings on biblical and/or faith themes and has exhibited and lectured widely in Europe, the United States, and South Africa. Her abstract and expressionist works explore what it means to live by faith. She hopes that reflection on them will encourage viewers to consider their own faith, talk about it, and pray. A recent grave illness threatened to end Kaai-van Wijngaarden’s painting career, but God restored her, and her subsequent works are testimonies of thankfulness and joy for her renewed spiritual vision, physical strength, and God-given opportunity to paint again.
