Strong pastoral identity is the key to sustaining pastoral excellence and being effective leaders in the church.
In this seminar, we will:
- Study the theology and practice of pastoral ministry with a view to creatively and critically engaging changing views of the church and its ministry in our contemporary culture.
- Integrate this theological understanding of pastoral ministry with the basic practices of congregational leadership.
- Review case studies on leadership issues and gain tools for effective leadership, using William Willimon’s book Pastor: The Theology and Practice of Ordained Ministry, and Herrington, Creech & Taylor’s The Leader’s Journey: Accepting the Call to Personal and Congregational Transformation.
The seminar will be led by Rev. Duane Kelderman and Rev. Kathy Smith.
The cost to participate is $75 (USD), lunches and refreshments included.
