In this seminar, we will study the theology and practice of pastoral ministry with a view to creatively and critically engaging changing views of the church and its ministry in our contemporary culture.

Strong pastoral identity is the key to sustaining pastoral excellence and being effective leaders in the church.

In this seminar, we will:

  • Study the theology and practice of pastoral ministry with a view to creatively and critically engaging changing views of the church and its ministry in our contemporary culture.
  • Integrate this theological understanding of pastoral ministry with the basic practices of congregational leadership.
  • Review case studies on leadership issues and gain tools for effective leadership, using William Willimon’s book Pastor: The Theology and Practice of Ordained Ministry, and Herrington, Creech & Taylor’s The Leader’s Journey: Accepting the Call to Personal and Congregational Transformation.

The seminar will be led by Rev. Duane Kelderman and Rev. Kathy Smith.

The cost to participate is $75 (USD), lunches and refreshments included.
