You will leave with practical tools you can implement immediately to support, engage, and connect with families and individuals facing this often-isolating diagnosis. We encourage you to bring a team from your congregation to help you develop a common language and framework for including all.
The presenters are Barbara J. Newman and Tory White. Barbara is the Church Services Director and Special Education Consultant for CLC Network in Wyoming, Michigan, and a CICW Program Affiliate. She is the author of several books on creating a place of welcome in our congregations for persons with disabilities including Accessible Gospel, Inclusive Worship, Helping Kids Include Kids with Disabilities, Autism and Your Church, El Autismo Y Tu Iglesia, and Body Building: Devotions to Celebrate Inclusive Community. In addition to writing and speaking, Barbara enjoys working in her classroom at Zeeland Christian School. Tory is the church services coordinator and consultant at CLC Network, has been involved in education and ministry for over twenty years. Tory has written curriculum for her church’s children’s ministry, as well as for Friendship Ministries’ adult inclusive Bible study, TOGETHER. She has edited several books, including CLC Network’s latest publication, Accessible Gospel, Inclusive Worship. Tory brings her experience in homeschooling, a degree in education, a decade of supporting inclusion at Zeeland Christian School, and victory over a debilitating chronic illness to serve families and churches in their efforts to include individuals of all abilities with excellence.
Registration for the event is free for member and supporting churches of CLC Network, and $10/person for future members. Member churches include churches that financially support the mission of CLC Network. Lunch is included with registration. Please register by April 4.
