Why “do this in remembrance” and not just “think on these things”? The biblical world of rituals is thick, including the habits of daily life, treaties with gods and kings, and the calendar of Israel’s and Christianity’s worship. We are ritualed creatures, and the Scriptures uniquely claim that rituals yield skill, discernment, and the understanding necessary to serve in the kingdom of God.

(Applications for this seminar are now closed)

This week-long seminar will explore the question “why ritual and not some other way of knowing” so that participant can see how their daily life, their education, their worship, and their communities only make sense in light of the Scripture’s view of our ritualized world.

Directed by Dru Johnson, our week together will consist of a variety of interactive learning experiences, readings, and group discussions, as well as leisure time in the afternoon to rest, reflect, and rejuvenate.

This seminar will be offered at no cost to those participants who are selected. Space is limited. All meals and lodging will be provided throughout the week. Participants are responsible for the cost of travel to and from the seminar.
