My bronzes are expressions of my response to certain Biblical premises regarding the nature of God and the created order. Primary among these facts are the estrangement of man from God, from nature and from his fellow human beings. I try to show the resulting distortions and ironies this estrangement creates.
My images deal with creature—hood, alienation, resurrection, joy, praise and gratitude to God. But mixed with all these themes are the perplexities that are part and parcel of the human condition. I derive my hope from the fact that we receive "fresh strength" from God, daily, and that these things that we see now are transitory. The invisible things, that we do not see, but have hope in, are the truly permanent ones. 2 Corinthians 4:16 and 18.
