Steve Fridsma
Steve Fridsma AIA LEED is a licensed architect, designer, and consultant with nearly 30 years of experience in a wide variety of building types; however, has focused his learning and experience on leading congregations through the planning and design of ministry environments since 2001. He is Co-Owner and Principal Architect at Elevate Studio Architecture Design based in Grand Rapids, MI. He is passionate about examining spiritual, cultural, and missional forces, and then discerning appropriate responses for each particular church's unique ministry mission, vision, and values. Steve has published articles and presented at church facility conferences across the country concerning adaptive reuse of existing buildings, Creation Care and Sustainable design, and design solutions for emerging ministry models. He has also served Calvin University as an adjunct professor, exhibit curator, student advisor, and Alumni Board member. Steve currently serves in the Worship, Facilities, and Art ministries at Monroe Community Church (CRC) in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. He lives in Grand Rapids, MI with his wife Mary, two children, and two chinchillas.
