Uzoaku Juliana Williams

Uzoaku Juliana Williams is a minister of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria currently serving as the first female assistant general secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria, the foremost ecumenical body in Nigeria. She is a graduate of Yaba College of Technology and Lagos State University with a Higher National Diploma in fashion design and postgraduate degree in business administration. She received a scholarship from the World Council of Churches to study at the Ecumenical Institute of the University of Geneva, Switzerland, where she obtained a postgraduate certificate in Advanced Ecumenical Studies. She also holds postgraduate degree in theology from the Hugh Goldie Theological Institute, an affiliation of Abia State University in Uturu, Nigeria, and is currently studying for a master’s in women’s and gender studies from the University of Jos.

Rev. Dr. Williams specializes in global issues like women’s and gender rights, ecumenism, HIV/AIDS advocacy and counseling, and child and maternal issues, and she has led many women’s empowerment initiatives across Nigeria’s ecumenical networks.

Currently she is collaborating with the Christian Council of Nigeria to coordinate the UNICEF Spotlight Initiative on ending violence against children.
