Practicing Our Faith

Explores twelve-time-honored Christian practices and shows how they give depth and meaning to daily life.

This website is sponsored by the Valparaiso Project on the Education and Formation of People in Faith. The mission of the Valparaiso Project is to develop resources that speak to the spiritual hunger of our contemporaries with the substantive wisdom of the Christian faith, especially as this wisdom takes shape in Christian practices.

The Project accomplishes its mission by conducting seminars, commissioning books, developing interactive resources for adults and youth, and by supporting innovative strategies to strengthen participation in Christian practices in a variety of life settings.

The Valparaiso Project launched PracticingOurFaith.org as a way to extend the invitation offered in the 1997 book, Practicing Our Faith: A Way of Life for a Searching People, now available in a 2010 edition with new chapters and study materials included. Both the book and website explore 12 time-honored practices shaped by the Christian community over the centuries, yet richly relevant to contemporary experience. These Christian practices are shared activities that address fundamental human needs and that, when woven together, form a way of life that is faithful and has integrity.
