James Abbington

Professor of Music and Worship

James Abbington is professor of music and worship at Candler School of Theology at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia; executive editor of the GIA African American Sacred Music Series; and author of several books on music and worship in the African American tradition. He was associate editor of the African American Heritage Hymnal (GIA 2001), executive editor of the GIA African American Sacred Music Series, and the author of Let Mount Zion Rejoice: Music in the African American Church (Judson 2001).
