Charlotte vanOyen Witvliet

Charlotte vanOyen Witvliet serves as the Lavern ’39 and Betty DePree ’41 VanKley Professor of Psychology at Hope College. After graduating from Calvin College, she trained as a clinical psychologist at Purdue University and the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center with emphasis in trauma, health, and psychophysiology. Charlotte has devoted over two decades to research on embodying forgiveness, as well as accountability, compassion, gratitude, humility, and hope.
