Worship and Formation for Ministry

Calvin Theological Seminary is offering an academic course built around the Calvin Symposium on Worship. Seminary and college students, pastors, and worship leaders are all welcome to take the course.

Date:

Tuesday, January 10 - Monday, January 30, 2017

Location:

Calvin Theological Seminary
Grand Rapids, Michigan

The course is taught by Professor David M. Rylaarsdam. The conference speakers will be the primary teachers. But in preparation for this learning, students will do some online work during January, including setting goals for their formation and researching conference speakers. During the afternoon before the conference, we will gather as a class to hear from a symposium organizer and to consider some educational theories and strategies for life-long learning. During the conference, we will meet for dinner on Friday to share what we are learning. After the conference, students will reflect in an integrated way on their learning and prioritize resolutions for their life and service in the church.

The course can be taken for 2 or 3 credits, and it can be applied to a wide range of programs (e.g., MA, MDiv, ThM, Certificates). College students can take the course for masters-level credit. Some colleges may also accept these as transfer credits into a student’s college program.
