Calvin Symposium on Worship - January 26-28, 2012

We look forward to welcoming 1800 participants to the 25th annual Calvin Symposium on Worship at Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary!

Checking in for the conference

Location and Times

Check-in and the Information Station are located in the Hekman Library fireplace lobby at Calvin College. The Check-in area is available at the following times:

  • Wednesday, January 25, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
  • Thursday, January 26, starting at 7:00 am
  • Friday, January 27, starting at 7:30 am
  • Saturday, January 28, starting at 7:30 am

Check-in Process

Check-in is a do-it-yourself process, done once when you first arrive for the conference: 

  1. Parking is available at the Prince Conference Center, Covenant Fine Arts Center, or Spoelhof Center parking lots. If you paid for shuttle service from a hotel, please see this bus schedule.
  2. Pick-up your name badge (arranged alphabetically by last name) from the tables in the Library lobby.
    • Your name badge contains information on the workshops and meals you signed up to attend.
  3. Pick-up your
  • program & worship book (preview the program book and room changes)
  • Psalms for All Seasons book (one copy of Psalms was included in each paid registration)
  • two CDs: Cry Out to God! and Sing to God with Joy, both CDs are selections from the new psalter
  • If you pre-paid for additional books, pick them up at the designated table in the lobby.

You may find it handy to bring your own tote bag!

After you check-in, you are invited to visit the Covenant Fine Arts Center and

  • enjoy the Psalms art show on the first level 
  • browse the exhibits on the second level
  • visit the prayer room on the first level located behind the auditorium

Walk-Up Registrations

Walk-up registrants: Look for the "Walk-Up" table in the lobby. Please register there. Cash or check only.

Preparing to worship

This year our worship theme is "The Psalms: When Life is Prayer." Reflect on and study the Psalm texts for the worship services. Also see the web showcase "Psalms in Worship."
