Why People Still Love Hymnals

If you worship in a church where the music reflects the CCLI Top 25, then you may be surprised to hear that many Christians still love singing and praying from hymnals.

If you worship in a church where the music reflects the CCLI Top 25, then you may be surprised to hear that many Christians still love singing and praying from hymnals.

The Christian Reformed Church in North America and the Reformed Church in America are working on a new joint hymnal, Lift Up Your Hearts, due out in June 2013. The Presbyterian Church in the USA expects to release its Glory to God hymnal in fall 2013.

Along with these denominations, other denominations are planning or producing hymnal-based apps and multimedia resources. GIA Publications just released a free iPad hymnal app through which you can purchase the hymnals you need.

Christian Courier interviewed John D. Witvliet a dozen years ago about hymnals. What he said is still relevant. And have fun with the latest widgets at Hymnary.org.
