The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.

Christ instituted the outward washing at baptism and with it gave the promise that, as surely as water washes away the dirt from the body, so certainly his blood and Spirit wash away the impurity of my soul, that is, all my sins.

Through Jesus Christ,

Cristo instituyó un lavamiento visible en al bautismo y con ello prometió que, tal como el agua quita la suciedad del cuerpo, su sangre y el Espíritu limpian la impureza—es decir, todos los pecados—de mi alma.

Hear the word of the Lord from 1 Peter 3:8–22:

Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing. For “Those who desire life and desire to see good days, let them keep their tongues from evil and their lips from speaking deceit; let them turn away from evil and do good; let them seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do
evil.”

Now who will harm you if you are eager to do what is good? But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated, but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and reverence. Keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who abuse you for your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if suffering should be God’s will, than to suffer for doing evil.

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit, in which also he went and made a proclamation to the spirits in prison, who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water. And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you—not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers made subject to him.                                                                                                                                                                                      

Escuchen la palabra del Señor de 1 Pedro 3:8–22:

En fin, vivan en armonía los unos con los otros; compartan penas y alegrías, practiquen el amor fraternal, sean compasivos y humildes. No devuelvan mal por mal
ni insulto por insulto; más bien, bendigan, porque para esto fueron llamados, para heredar una bendición. En efecto, «el que quiera amar la vida y gozar de días felices, que refrene su lengua de hablar el mal y sus labios de proferir engaños; que se aparte del mal y haga el bien; que busque la paz y la siga. Porque los ojos del Señor están sobre los justos, y sus oídos, atentos a sus oraciones; pero el rostro del Señor está contra los que hacen el mal».

Y a ustedes, ¿quién les va a hacer daño si se esfuerzan por hacer el bien? ¡Dichosos si sufren por causa de la justicia! «No teman lo que ellos temen, ni se dejen asustar». Más bien, honren en su corazón a Cristo como Señor. Estén siempre preparados para responder a todo el que les pida razón de la esperanza que hay en ustedes. Pero háganlo con gentileza y respeto, manteniendo la conciencia limpia, para que los que hablan mal de la buena conducta de ustedes en Cristo se avergüencen de sus calumnias. Si es la voluntad de Dios, es preferible sufrir por hacer el bien que por hacer el mal.

Porque Cristo murió por los pecados una vez por todas, el justo por los injustos, a fin de llevarlos a ustedes a Dios. Él sufrió la muerte en su cuerpo, pero el Espíritu hizo que volviera a la vida. Por medio del Espíritu fue y predicó a los espíritus encarcelados, que en los tiempos antiguos, en los días de Noé, desobedecieron, cuando Dios esperaba con paciencia mientras se construía el arca. En ella solo pocas personas, ocho en total, se salvaron mediante el agua, la cual simboliza el bautismo que ahora los salva también a ustedes. El bautismo no consiste en la limpieza del cuerpo, sino en el compromiso de tener una buena conciencia delante de Dios. Esta salvación es posible por la resurrección de Jesucristo, quien subió al cielo y tomó su lugar a la derecha de Dios, y a quien están sometidos los ángeles, las autoridades y los poderes.

We give thanks to God the Father that our Savior, Jesus Christ, before he suffered, gave us this memorial of his sacrifice, until he comes again.

The Lord Jesus, on the night of his arrest, took bread, and after giving thanks to God, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take, eat. This is my body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

In the same way, he took the cup after supper and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this in remembrance of me.”

For whenever we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Damos gracias a Dios Padre, que nuestro Salvador Jesucristo, antes de sufrir, nos dejó esta conmemoración de su sacrificio, hasta que vuelva.

«El Señor Jesús, tomó pan; la noche que fue entregado, y habiendo dado gracias, lo partió y dijo: tomad, comed, esto es mi cuerpo que por vosotros es partido: haced esto en memoria de mí».

The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ?                                                          

The bread that we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?

Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.

All who are truly sorry for their sins, who sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Savior, and whodesire to live in obedience to him, are invited to come with gladness to the table of the Lord.

The gifts of God for the people of God.                                 

Esa copa de bendición por la cual damos gracias, ¿no significa que entramos en comunión con la sangre de Cristo?

Ese pan que partimos, ¿no significa que entramos en comunión con el cuerpo de Cristo?

Hay un solo pan del cual todos participamos; por eso, aunque somos muchos, formamos un solo cuerpo.

Todos los que se arrepienten verdaderamente de sus pecados, creen sinceramente en el Señor Jesús como su Salvador, y desean vivir obedeciéndole, están invitados a venir con alegría a la mesa del Señor.
